Our radiology team positions you to work with some of health care’s most innovative minds, to help shape and move the practice of medical imaging forward. Our opportunities span multiple modalities, including CT, MRI, X-Ray, ultrasound, bone density (DEXA), nuclear medicine, and mammography. You’ll have support from leadership and work with the latest equipment and procedures in some of our facilities, such as microwave and radiofrequency ablation, advanced cryo-imaging, the O-arm surgical imaging system, and intraoperative CT and fMRI.

Travel Alternative Program at UAB Hospital


Are you an experienced radiologic technologist looking for a temporary contract position? UAB Medicine is excited to introduce a travel alternative program (TAP), which offers a unique and innovative opportunity in Birmingham, Ala.

The radiologic technologist TAP includes flexible scheduling options across medical imaging at UAB. The program gives X-ray and CT technologists the opportunity to sharpen their skills, use the latest equipment and procedures, and expand their knowledge. These positions are at the main UAB Hospital – a Level I Trauma Center and the No. 1 hospital in Alabama as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.

Contract details:
  • Must be able to work assigned shifts throughout the 12-week contract
  • Holiday and weekend assignments required
  • Day, evening, and night shifts available
  • Option to renew contract for an additional 8-12 weeks

Experience:
Candidates must have two years of recent experience or at least 12 months of recent experience at UAB.

Licensure:
The candidate must currently be a registered radiologic technologist (R.T) (R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). New hires will have one year to become registered in computed tomography (CT) by the ARRT or certified as a nuclear medicine technologist (NMT) by the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
