Why did you choose UAB Medicine?
I chose UAB for my residency because of its strong reputation for pharmacist involvement in patient care and its commitment to providing diverse and challenging clinical experiences, particularly in oncology. I was specifically looking for a PGY2 program with an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center that offers comprehensive training in both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, as well as opportunities to work with complex patient populations. UAB’s oncology program stood out for its clinical rigor, range of experiences, and supportive learning environment. During ASHP Midyear, I was especially drawn to the warm, welcoming atmosphere and could tell that this was a program that truly understands the challenges of residency and is dedicated to supporting its residents both professionally and personally throughout the year.
